FAILfaire: Where it's OK to Talk About #FAILS

The stories of failures and lessons learned in tech for social change.

Tech projects for social change succeed sometimes, but more often than not, they fail.

The successes are reported on, and the failures are quietly pushed under the proverbial rug.

Well, its time to bring out the failures, with a sense of humor, and with an honest look at ourselves at FAILfaire NYC 2011.

FAILfaire features case studies of projects using tech in social change that have, to put it simply, been a #FAIL. Busted, kaputt. Tongue firmly in cheek, we take a close look at what didn't work and why the projects failed amidst the hype of tech changing the work - hype that we all are subjected to (and are sometimes contributors to).

We believe that only if we understand what DOESN'T WORK in this field and stop being silent about our failures, can we collectively learn and get better, more effective, and have greater impact as we go forward.

FAILfaire returns to New York City on December 14th, 2011 from 7:00-9:30pm.

7:00 Welcome and drinks

7:30 #FAIL-Slam: Ignite talks showcasing failure in tech for social change
